Very Special 50th Anniversary Doctor Who

Firstly, apologies to the RPG lovers who have come this way. This is not (unlike my own very special Doctor Who Christmas Special Alternative) a game I am running to coincide with this year's 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who.

Neither is it a reference to the current TV production, which I'm sure will be lovely and all that.

Big Finish have announced their own Doctor Who 50th Anniversary special. The story reputedly affects all 8 Doctors, although obviously only the surviving 5 actors from the "classic" TV series will reprise their roles. Yes, Big Finish are doing an epic special starring Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy and Paul McGann.

This isn't the sort of thing I usually post on this blog, but I thought the bringing together of all Doctors from Baker number one through to Paul McGann was very significant and a testament to Big Finish's successes.

The Doctors are joined by Louise Jameson as the 4th Doctor's assistant Leela, Sarah Sutton as the 5th Doctor's assistant Nyssa, Nicola Bryant as the 6th Doctor's assistant Peri, Sophie Aldred as the 7th Doctor's assistant Ace and India Fisher as the 8th Doctor's assistant (in audio format) Charley Pollard.

For those who don't know, Big Finish produce new full-cast Doctor Who episodes featuring the previous generations of the Doctor, entirely in audio. For those that really wanted to see more of Paul McGann as The Doctor, you may be pleasantly surprised to hear that he's been continuing the part with Big Finish very successfully for over ten years now, so there's plenty to catch up on.

I personally love radio drama and if I'm totally honest I often enjoy the Big Finish Audios more than the current TV series.
